Subsea (SURF)

Subsea Umbilicals, Risers, and Flowlines (SURF)

It define the core subsea infrastructure that enables offshore oil and gas production by linking subsea wells and production equipment on the seabed to surface or topside processing facilities. Umbilicals are multi-functional composite cables that transmit electrical power, control signals, hydraulic fluids, and production chemicals from topside facilities to subsea systems such as subsea trees, manifolds, and control modules, allowing remote monitoring, control, and intervention of subsea operations. Flowlines are rigid or flexible pipelines installed on or beneath the seabed that transport produced hydrocarbons and injection fluids between subsea wells, manifolds, and riser bases while maintaining integrity under high pressure, temperature, and environmental loading. Risers form the critical vertical connection between the seabed and surface facilities, transferring fluids between flowlines and topside equipment while accommodating dynamic motions, fatigue loading, and installation constraints.
